For the last couple years, nitrile industrial-grade disposable gloves have not always been easy to come by.
With the onset of the pandemic, manufacturers were forced to ramp up production quickly. They turned their immediate focus to exam-grade product to meet the overwhelming need in medical applications. For industrial nitrile, prices went up and availability went down.
Since then, inventory of nitrile gloves has rebounded substantially. AMMEX has end-users well-covered throughout the nitrile spectrum, from good to better to best.
A nitrile glove for any need
GOOD: At the lighter end—but offering tremendous versatility—are X3 (blue) and BX3 (black). These gloves will change everything you thought you knew about 3-mil nitrile. When you need a disposable glove with the strength of nitrile, balanced with excellent dexterity for lighter-duty applications, you want X3 or BX3.
BETTER: In the middle are dependable 5-mil Gloveworks nitrile in black and standard blue. Their micro-roughened and textured surface provides a reliable grip for a variety of uses, from food prep to cleaning to painting to repairs.
BEST: At the top of the industrial scale are Gloveworks with Raised Diamond Texture. These 8-mil gloves, available in orange, green, black, and royal blue, are for true heavy-duty use. The texture delivers the best grip you’ll find anywhere for working with tools and machinery.
Follow the light (or medium)
Does every end-user need heavy-duty gloves? Definitely not. Lighter-weight gloves are an important addition to any distributor’s product lineup.
They’re a great choice for short-duration use, especially for food service and jan/san—yet they offer much better fit and feel than comparable vinyl gloves. These are among the most comfortable gloves your customers will ever wear.
Nitrile has three times the puncture resistance of latex, so they can be confident their hands are protected. Made of the same premium nitrile as our heavier gloves, they provide a dependable barrier against cleaning solutions, paint, and a wide variety of common and specialty chemicals.
A devoted following built on black nitrile
One AMMEX distributor in Wyoming says BX3 has been his supply house’s top-selling jan/san glove for years. His customers include the state Department of Corrections as well as a university, school districts, and several municipalities. “That’s our bread and butter,” he says.
Another channel for black nitrile is beauty & salon. A VP at a major beauty supply company told us that a lot of barbers and hairdressers prefer black nitrile. “Specifically in the beauty industry, colors are so important,” he says. “It’s really art. People are very specific about color, and black is definitely the most popular color in nitrile.”
Among our lowest-cost nitrile options, latex-free and powder-free X3 nitrile industrial gloves offer tremendous value. This is one time when you’re getting much, much more than you pay for.
